The Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box is displayed. In the USB Root Hub Properties dialog box, select the Power Management tab.
In the Device Manager dialog box, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers, right-click USB Root Hub, and then select Properties. Select Start, type device manager in the Start Search box, and then select Device Manager in the Programs list. To view the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box, follow these steps: Microsoft has confirmed that it's a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the Applies to section. Choose your desired settings using the checkboxes and then click on 'OK' to save these settings. Under the Power Management tab, you will see the option for restricting power to the USB port to save battery power. If you want to enable Windows Vista to turn off the USB root hub when the computer is plugged in to a power outlet, select Enabled in the Plugged in list, and then select OK. Right-click on the 'USB Root Hub' you want to change, and then click on 'Properties' to open the USB ports Properties dialog box. Find and Right-Click on the USB Serial Port (this can be named a number of things, make sure it is the correct one for your radio) 5. To work around this problem, enable the USB selective suspend option. The USB hubs I use are Belkin powered 5 and 7 port USB hubs (Belkin F5U237-C).
